Fully Functional PBMC at your fingertips™

CTL provides a library of over 400 donors’ PBMC, cryopreserved to preserve full functionality, with hundreds of aliquots available from each subject. This enables you to repeat and expand experiments using the same cells indefinitely. These ePBMC have been characterized for T- and B-cell reactivity against SARS-CoV-2, HCMV, EBV, influenza, and other common recall antigens.

These cells are invaluable for antigen-specific T and B cell ELISPOT/FluoroSpot assay development, validation, and proficiency testing, all of which CTL can support. Entire studies can be performed using these cells.

Need a cohort of HLA-allele-matched donors? Looking for a specific allele? CTL offers access to dozens of subjects for most alleles, ready to use — and no IRB approval is required!

Applications
Individual healthy donor cells are available in large batches of 400 to 800 vials, suitable for any application requiring live, functional PBMC.

Applicable for use in:

  • ELISPOT

  • Cytokine Protein Arrays (CPA)

  • NK assays

  • Cytokine mRNA Determinations (RT-PCR)

  • Tetramers/Pentamers

  • ADCC

  • Intracytoplasmic Cytokine Staining (ICS)

  • Transmigration Assay

  • Cytokine ELISA Assays

  • Cytotoxicity Assays

  • Cytokine Bead Arrays (CBA)

  • Toxicology studies

Characterization
Immune-characterized PBMC are available in large batches of individually cryopreserved vials, each with predetermined frequencies of antigen-specific IFN-γ, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, and IL-17 secreting cells.

Each PBMC batch has been tested for reactivity in ELISPOT assays using both Class I-restricted antigens — including 32 Class I individual CEF peptides and 2 Class I CEF-Peptide Pools — and Class II antigens, which include 24 Class II individual CEF peptides, 1 Class II CEF-Peptide Pool, and 6 protein antigens (Mosquito, Dust Mite, Mumps, Candida, PPD, PHA). Also included is the CPI antigen peptide pool, developed as a CD4+ specific positive control.

All donor cells are high-resolution HLA-typed for three Class I loci (A, B, C) and four Class II loci (DRB1, DQA1, DQB1, and DP).

Each donor is fully characterized with detailed demographic information, vaccination history, and antigen reactivity.

These samples serve as reliable reference materials for designing custom experiments or for screening uncharacterized PBMC against your specific antigen or compound of interest.

Convenience
ePBMC samples are derived from leukocytes collected via leukapheresis and cryopreserved using CTL-Cryo™ ABC serum-free freezing medium to ensure maximum viability and functionality.

All leukapheresis samples are collected in full accordance with HIPAA guidelines, ensuring complete donor privacy protection. They are rigorously tested for HBsAg, HBcAb, HCV, HTLV I/II, and STS through serological methods, and for HIV I, HCV, and WNV using NAT (nucleic acid testing).

No IRB approvals are required — CTL has already addressed all ethical and regulatory compliance matters, allowing you to obtain donor samples tailored to your needs without any administrative burden.
